Our reheat instructions are based on a standard home oven, stove and microwave. Cooking times may vary depending on your equipment. We recommend using the instructions as a guide and check the internal temperature before serving. The best way to do this is to use a probe. The internal temperature must be above 75C. If you do not have a probe, insert a knife into the centre of the product and ensure it is piping hot. You will get the best result if you defrost the meal prior to reheating. The safest way to do this is to defrost your meal in its sealed tray or pouch in the fridge for 12 to 24 hours.
Cook as follows:
If received in foil tray
Reheat in oven
1. Preheat oven to 160
2. From defrosted, heat in oven for 13-16 minutes, covered.
3. From frozen, heat in oven for 40 - 45 minutes, covered.
4. Be careful when removing it from the oven, as the tray will be very hot.
5. Serve and enjoy!
If received in Cryovac bag
Reheat in hot water
1. For optimum results, place vacuum pouch into a suitably sized pot of hot water and simmer
2. From defrosted, simmer for 7 - 10 minutes. (Once water is simmering.)
3. From frozen, simmer for 15 - 17 minutes. (Once water is simmering.)
4. Carefully remove bag from boiling water as it will be hot.
Reheat in a microwave
1. Pierce a hole in the pouch and place into a microwave-safe container
2. From defrosted reheat for 3-6 minutes. (The pouch may expand during reheating, this is normal.)
3. From frozen reheat for 5-7 minutes. (The pouch may expand during reheating, this is normal.)
4. Be careful removing from microwave as contents will be hot.
To enhance your experience further, the chef suggests adding the following before serving: Serve with a grain salad, steamed rice or grilled flat bread.
