Are CPET Trays Oven Safe? Follow the Pack

Providoor uses oven- and microwave-safe CPET trays for suitable products, but the dish’s latest packaging determines how it should be heated. Check the product instructions before choosing an appliance or temperature.

Identify the packaging first

A CPET tray is different from a vacuum pouch or a sealed soup pouch. Most proteins arrive in vacuum pouches, while soups and sauces may use sealed tear-open pouches. Do not assume instructions for a tray also apply to a pouch.

Follow the dish’s method

Use the oven temperature printed on the pack. Follow its directions for removing the sleeve, piercing or removing film, covering and uncovering. A tray’s material does not establish a universal cooking temperature for every product.

Microwave only when the product directs it

A microwave-safe container does not mean every meal is suitable for microwave preparation. The Sticky Sweet and Sour Pork Stir Fry Kit contains raw meat and specifically says not to microwave. Follow the food’s instructions as well as the packaging guidance.

Examples from the current menu

Roasted Pumpkin, Spinach and Ricotta Lasagne uses an oven method with covered and uncovered stages. Potato & Leek Soup has its own saucepan and microwave directions. Check the product page and latest pack before heating.

Defrost and dispose of packaging as directed

For best results, defrost in the refrigerator unless the product specifically directs cooking from frozen. Never submerge food or packaging in water for defrosting or reheating.

Follow the recycling label for each component and check local council acceptance. Do not assume trays, film and sleeves all belong in the same bin.

This means that we do not have any obligation to honour the vouchers issued by the previous company, as those financial liabilities were not transferred to us during the acquisition. We know this may be disappointing news, but please understand that we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for our valued customers.
