Plan space for the actual number and shape of Providoor packs you intend to order, using the clear space inside your freezer and current pack information. A product’s food weight or listed servings does not tell you its outside dimensions. Check both the storage space and the opening the packs must pass through before building a large order.
This checklist helps you prepare for high quality meals that are easy to cook and finish when you need them. It is a planning worksheet, not a claim that a particular basket has been measured or tested in your freezer.
Browse Providoor meals and start your freezer plan. List every main, side and dessert you want before checking the space each pack will need.

Measure the space you can actually use
Start with the drawer or shelf where the order will go. Record the clear internal width, depth and height, including the narrowest opening. A drawer lip, sloping back or shelf above can limit access even when the main compartment looks large enough.
Keep the food already in your freezer in the plan. Allow for the appliance manufacturer’s loading and ventilation instructions rather than filling every visible gap. A freezer’s advertised capacity is not a count of meal packs.
- Choose the shelf or drawer and check its usable opening.
- Record the space that remains after existing food and required clearances.
- Check whether you can reach the first meal without removing the rest of the order.
- Confirm the drawer or door will close normally, without pressing on packs or seals.
Count packs separately from meals
A main and a separately purchased side are two products in your order. Planning two such dinners may mean four packs to store, even though you think of them as two meals. Start with the quantities in your intended basket, not the number of occasions on your calendar.
Keep your portion and cost calculation alongside the space plan. Serving counts help you plan food; they do not establish pack height, footprint or whether one pack can be stacked on another.
Make a pack-and-space worksheet
Copy this table into your notes. Use the same unit throughout, such as centimetres. Record current outer pack measurements only when you have verified them; leave unknown dimensions marked “check before ordering”.
| What to record | Your entry | Decision it supports |
|---|---|---|
| Usable drawer or shelf space | Width: ___ cm; depth: ___ cm; height: ___ cm; narrowest opening: ___ cm | Can the pack enter and sit without obstructing the drawer? |
| Product and quantity | Product link: ___; packs: ___ | Have mains, sides and desserts all been counted? |
| Current outer pack size | Width: ___ cm; depth: ___ cm; height: ___ cm; source/date: ___ | Is the figure for the sealed pack that will arrive? Mark unknown values “check before ordering”. |
| Pack shape and required orientation | Rigid or flexible: ___; flat/upright or other pack instruction: ___ | Does the proposed position respect the pack instructions? |
| Planned position | Drawer/shelf: ___; position and order of access: ___ | Can you retrieve the next meal without disturbing everything? |
If dimensions are not shown on the current product page, ask Providoor support about the exact product and pack before relying on a tight fit. Share the product link, quantity and your available space. A photo of the clear freezer area can help explain the question; it is not a substitute for measurements.
Check the arrangement without guessing from a photograph
Once you have current measurements, a paper outline can help you plan the footprint. Check height and access separately: outlines that fit side by side do not prove the drawer can close. Flexible packs may have an uneven shape, so do not treat them as a perfectly flat rectangle or compress them to make a calculation work.
Give the plan one of three results:
- Ready to use as a plan: current outer dimensions are confirmed, every pack fits the opening and intended position in its required orientation, and the appliance’s clearances and normal door or drawer movement are allowed for. Confirm the arrangement with the actual packs when they arrive.
- Revise: a pack exceeds an opening or available dimension, obstructs closure, or relies on compressing packs or ignoring instructions. Change the location or basket.
- Not yet confirmed: any dimension, shape or handling requirement is unknown. Resolve it with the current pack information or Providoor support before treating the order as a fit.
Adding up pack volumes is not a pass/fail test: the same total volume can have very different shapes and access requirements.
For a repeat order, record the pack you actually receive and the date. Recheck if the product or packaging changes. Keep the packaging, seals and product information intact; a space-saving plan should not depend on discarding preparation, storage or allergen instructions.
Prepare before delivery arrives
Clear the intended space before receiving the order, then follow each pack’s storage instructions promptly. Do not leave meals on the bench while you redesign the freezer. FSANZ advises following storage instructions and not thawing frozen food at room temperature.
Use the Providoor order-organisation guide for the receiving routine. This worksheet focuses on the space decision before you order; it does not replace product storage directions.
Order for the space you have
The minimum Providoor food order is $80 after discounts, excluding delivery. Standard free delivery starts at $179 for eligible Sydney addresses or $199 for eligible addresses in Victoria and Queensland. Check your postcode, dates and fee in Providoor Delivery Info, and confirm eligible offers and the final total at checkout.
Adding food solely to reach a delivery threshold is only useful if you want the meals and can store them correctly. A smaller qualifying order with a delivery charge may suit your space better.
Choose your Providoor meals for the space you have. Before checkout, confirm the pack count, resolve any unknown dimensions and keep your freezer plan with the order.
