Chef Insights

  • Description

By chef Marco Pierre White: a hearty blend of creamy potato and delicate leek, simmered in a rich chicken broth. Comfort in a bowl, and a reminder that the simplest classics are the hardest to get right. The potato blends down smooth, the leek keeps its gentle sweetness, and the broth carries both without overwhelming either.

Gluten free, at a net weight of 600g, it works as a starter before something substantial or as a main in its own right on a chilly day. Reheat it gently and it tastes like it has been on the stove all afternoon, which is precisely the point of keeping one in the freezer.

Browse the rest of the Marco Pierre White collection, or set it beside our pumpkin soup when you want two soups in the freezer for the week ahead.

Chef-made and flash-frozen, delivered across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, ready to heat and serve.

Cooking Instructions

Stove Top

For best results, defrost in the refrigerator at 5°C or below. Do not submerge the food or pouch in water.

Defrosted: Pour the soup into a saucepan and gently heat on low for 7–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until piping hot throughout and the internal temperature is above 74°C.

Serve and enjoy.

Microwave

For best results, defrost in the refrigerator at 5°C or below. Do not submerge the food or pouch in water.

Snip the top corner of the pouch. Microwave for 4 minutes if defrosted, or 7 minutes if frozen, until piping hot throughout and the internal temperature is above 74°C.

Serve and enjoy.

Cooking instructions are based on standard fan forced home ovens, stoves, and microwaves. Cooking times may vary. Always check that the internal temperature reaches 75°C before serving. For best results, cook from defrosted.

Marco Pierre White

“Creamy, velvety and comforting. The leeks bring sweetness, the potatoes give it body. It’s honest food — and all it needs is good bread and a spoon.” – Marco Pierre White

    Tasty

This soup is very nice and much better than the pumpkin, in my opinion, which I found too rich and heavy. This soup has a nice flavour and not too heavy on the leek. Substantial serve and filling, even without bread.

It appears that your voucher belongs to the old Providoor, which, unfortunately, is not us. :(

We understand how much the original Providoor meant to many Australians, especially during the challenging times of COVID. It provided a way to enjoy high-quality meals from beloved restaurants in the comfort of your home. We also understand that some of you may still hold vouchers from the previous iteration of Providoor, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

When the original Providoor, unfortunately, went into administration, we made the decision to purchase the brand because we recognised its significance to so many Australians. Providoor was more than just a business; it was a source of comfort, connection, and joy during tough times. However, while we have revived and rebranded Providoor to focus on delivering gourmet frozen meals from celebrity chefs, we are a completely new company with a different business model and operations.

This means that we do not have any obligation to honour the vouchers issued by the previous company, as those financial liabilities were not transferred to us during the acquisition. We know this may be disappointing news, but please understand that we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for our valued customers.

Thank you again for your understanding and for being a part of Providoor’s journey. We are committed to providing you with the highest quality gourmet experiences, and we look forward to serving you in the future.

Warm regards,
The Providoor Team
