When ordering frozen meals for one, start with the pack’s stated serves and how you will use the whole pack. A product labelled “serves two” is a multi-serve product; the number alone does not tell you that it contains two separately sealed meals.
Providoor can fit a one-person household when the chosen packs work for your actual plans. Those plans might include a dinner with a friend as well as meals on your own. Choose the product format first, then work out how many packs you need.
Choose Providoor packs around your plans. Browse Providoor mains and open the serving and preparation information for the dishes you like.

Four numbers to keep separate
- Pack count: the number of products in your order.
- Stated serves: the product’s serving guide; it does not establish the number of sealed containers.
- Net weight: the amount of food in a pack, which is different from a serving recommendation.
- Nutrition reference portion: the quantity used in the nutrition table, rather than proof of an independently packaged meal.
A two-serve main, a two-serve side and a four-serve dessert play different roles. Count the dinner you intend to eat before treating a per-serve price as the cost of a complete meal.
Compare the current pack examples
| Product | Stated serves | Role in the order | Current listed appliance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Butter Chicken | 2 | Curry main; rice and other accompaniments are separate. | Microwave or stovetop. |
| Thai Green Chicken Curry | 2 | A different curry choice, also requiring its own accompaniment plan. | Microwave or stovetop. |
| Pumpkin Soup | 2 | Soup; decide what else you want with it. | Microwave or stovetop. |
| Aromatic Rice | 2 | A side, not two complete dinners. | Microwave. |
| Sticky Date Pudding with Banana | 4 | A sharing dessert. | Oven. |
If you specifically need one sealed dinner per sitting, confirm that format before buying. None of these selected serving numbers should be read as a promise of individually wrapped meals. Read the full preparation steps, rather than choosing from the appliance name alone.
A clear $80 order example
For someone who has two curry dinners with a friend planned, plus a separate two-person soup occasion, this is an example of an order with a use for every selected pack:
- Two Butter Chicken packs at $23 each: $46, giving four listed curry servings.
- Two Aromatic Rice packs at $9 each: $18, giving four listed side servings.
- One Pumpkin Soup at $16: $16, giving two listed soup servings.
The food subtotal is $80 before discounts and delivery. It provides four curry-and-rice servings and two soup servings. It does not establish six individually packaged dinners, and it does not include bread, drinks or other extras for the soup occasion.
This example is useful if those sharing occasions fit your plans. If you only want solo, individually sealed dinners, do not buy a multi-serve order on the assumption that you can divide and store every product in the same way. Choose packs whose format and instructions meet your needs.
Give each pack an occasion
Before ordering, make a short list: product, intended occasion, number eating and required appliance. This makes a spare multi-serve pack or an unsuitable cooking method easier to spot. For a two-person routine, use the dinner-planning guide for couples.
If your plan depends on using an opened pack over more than one sitting, check the exact product’s current storage and preparation directions first. Where those directions are unclear, ask Providoor about that product before relying on a leftover period or refreezing plan. This guide does not create new storage instructions.
Check the minimum and delivery separately
The $80 minimum applies after discounts and excludes delivery charges. The example reaches it without a discount; a discount would reduce that subtotal, so you would need to check the minimum again. An $80 order is below the standard free-delivery thresholds.
Check your address through Delivery Info and include any delivery fee in your budget. For order organisation, see getting the most from your frozen-meal order; for whole-meal arithmetic, use the worked basket guide.
