What Are the Best Vegetarian Frozen Meals in Australia? - Providoor

Vegetarian Frozen Meals Australia: What to Look For

Author Providoor Editorial Team

The best vegetarian frozen meals for your household depend on what you need: a main for tonight, components for a shared dinner or a few useful freezer extras. Compare the whole meal, including portions, accompaniments, preparation and delivery, rather than judging by the pack price alone.

Updated 12 September 2026. This guide is written by Providoor and uses selected products from our current menu. It is a practical buying guide, not an independent ranking of every Australian meal provider.

Compare the meal you will actually serve

Start by checking whether an option is a complete main, a sauce, a side or a dessert. A pasta sauce needs something to serve with it; a vegetable side is a different purchase from a ready-prepared main. This distinction makes pack prices more useful when you compare supermarket meals, delivered meals or ingredients you prepare yourself.

  • Ingredients: read the full list and dietary information, including milk, egg and any allergen or trace declarations.
  • Servings: use the pack’s stated number of servings and its role in the meal. Do not assume a nutrition-panel serving establishes the total pack count.
  • Preparation: check whether you need an oven, microwave or stovetop, and allow time for any refrigerator defrosting.
  • Total cost: include the food you need alongside the dish, your delivery charge and any order minimum.

If you are comparing another supplier, check its current product pages and delivery terms at the time you order. Menus and prices change; a fixed count of dishes or an old sale price will not reliably describe today’s options.

Choose a main before adding sides

Roasted Pumpkin, Spinach and Ricotta Lasagne is one prepared main to explore. Check the latest pack or contact Providoor to confirm its portions before planning food for a group. Another approach is to combine Fresh Pappardelle Pasta with Brown Butter Spinach and Cream, preparing each according to its own instructions.

A soup can start a longer dinner, and sides let you build the table around what people enjoy. The vegetarian collection brings together the current shopping options; check individual product pages for availability.

The ingredient checks above are a starting point, not a replacement for the full allergen and trace declarations on each product and its latest packaging. A temporary stockout may change the combination you choose.

A worked dinner basket

For a starter, pasta main, side and dessert, one illustrative basket is Pumpkin Soup ($16), Fresh Pappardelle Pasta ($10), Brown Butter Spinach and Cream ($18), Pomme Purée ($13) and Sticky Date Pudding with Banana ($24). One pack of each totals $81 before discounts and delivery.

The current product fields list two servings for the soup, pasta, spinach-and-cream sauce and potato side, and four for the pudding. Those serving counts differ, so decide how much dessert you want and adjust the order for the people you are feeding. This is a basket example, not a fixed meal deal.

The minimum food order is $80 after discounts, excluding delivery. A discount that takes this example below $80 would require more food in the cart. For example, using a $40 discount requires at least $120 of food before that discount. This minimum helps us keep freight costs down across our delivery areas.

Vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements

Vegetarian and vegan are different categories. The vegetarian dishes above include milk and egg; Aromatic Rice also contains milk-derived ghee. Read every component’s ingredients when ordering for someone with a dietary requirement.

Explore the vegan collection, gluten-free collection and dairy-free collection separately when relevant. These categories do not all overlap, and a dairy-free dish may contain meat or seafood. If a classification or ingredient needs clarification, contact Providoor before ordering.

For nutrition information, refer to the current label on the dish you choose. A category name, an ingredient in the title or a photo does not tell you the nutrition of a whole dinner.

Plan preparation around the latest pack

Defrost in the refrigerator for best results, unless the product specifically instructs you to cook from frozen. Never submerge the food or its packaging in water to defrost or reheat. Follow the latest pack instructions for the dish and its container.

CPET trays can be suitable for the microwave or oven, but the product’s instructions determine the method and what to do with lids or film. Pouches are not a reason to use a water bath. For more detail, read our guide to reheating frozen meals and the lasagne preparation guide.

Check delivery before filling the freezer

Providoor delivers to eligible postcodes in NSW, VIC and QLD. Standard delivery is $14.95 within the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane metro delivery zones. Free delivery is available from $179 for Sydney metro and $199 for other eligible delivery areas. Regional fees vary by postcode.

Use the delivery checker for your address, then browse the current vegetarian meals and sides to build your order.

Common questions

What should I compare when choosing vegetarian frozen meals?

Compare the ingredients, stated servings, whether the product is a main or accompaniment, preparation steps and total delivered order cost. Check the latest product page and packaging for the items you choose.

Are all vegetarian meals vegan?

No. Vegetarian dishes can contain milk and egg. Check the dietary information and ingredients of each product, and browse the vegan collection separately if that is your preference.

How do I plan a complete vegetarian dinner?

Choose a main or a compatible pasta-and-sauce combination first, then add a starter, sides or dessert as needed. Check each pack’s stated servings rather than assuming every item feeds the same number of people.

How should I defrost vegetarian frozen meals?

Defrost in the refrigerator for best results, unless the product specifically instructs cooking from frozen. Never submerge food or its packaging in water to defrost or reheat. Follow the latest pack instructions.

Where does Providoor deliver vegetarian meals?

Providoor delivers to eligible postcodes in NSW, VIC and QLD. Check your address before ordering. The minimum food order is $80 after discounts, excluding delivery.

It appears that your voucher belongs to the old Providoor, which, unfortunately, is not us. :(

We understand how much the original Providoor meant to many Australians, especially during the challenging times of COVID. It provided a way to enjoy high-quality meals from beloved restaurants in the comfort of your home. We also understand that some of you may still hold vouchers from the previous iteration of Providoor, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

When the original Providoor, unfortunately, went into administration, we made the decision to purchase the brand because we recognised its significance to so many Australians. Providoor was more than just a business; it was a source of comfort, connection, and joy during tough times. However, while we have revived and rebranded Providoor to focus on delivering gourmet frozen meals from celebrity chefs, we are a completely new company with a different business model and operations.

This means that we do not have any obligation to honour the vouchers issued by the previous company, as those financial liabilities were not transferred to us during the acquisition. We know this may be disappointing news, but please understand that we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for our valued customers.

Thank you again for your understanding and for being a part of Providoor’s journey. We are committed to providing you with the highest quality gourmet experiences, and we look forward to serving you in the future.

Warm regards,
The Providoor Team
