Frozen Meal Delivery Brisbane: What You Can Actually Order in 2026

Brisbane is the longest leg of the three cities Providoor delivers to, and that is the first thing worth addressing — because it is the question everyone actually has about ordering frozen food from interstate.

Does frozen food survive the trip?

It does, and the reason is counterintuitive: frozen food travels better than fresh, not worse.

A chilled meal is in a slow race against its own use-by date from the moment it is packed. A meal frozen hard at minus 18 degrees Celsius is not — it is chemically paused. Insulated boxes and ice bricks are there to keep it paused, and the margin is measured in hours, not minutes. That is why cold-chain logistics can reach Brisbane with a frozen product and could not reliably do it with a fresh one.

Two practical habits make the difference at your end. Order two to three days ahead rather than the night before, and get the box into the freezer promptly on arrival. Anything that has stayed properly frozen is exactly as it left the kitchen.

What suits the climate

Brisbane eats differently to Melbourne, and the menu has a genuinely strong spice and curry range — most of it gluten and dairy free, which suits warm-weather eating.

Round any of them out with Aromatic Rice ($9, serves 2, five minutes in the microwave) and Garlic & Coriander Naan ($8, serves 4).

If you eat seafood

Christine Manfield’s Coconut & Prawn Curry is the one on the menu now, and the seafood range is expanding. Prawns hold up unusually well to freezing when they are cooked into a sauce rather than served on their own — the sauce insulates them through both the freeze and the reheat.

Who cooks the food

Six chefs currently have dishes on the menu, alongside the in-house Providoor Market range: Marco Pierre White, George Calombaris, Silvia Colloca, Christine Manfield, Luke Nguyen and Anna Polyviou.

That matters more than it sounds. A frozen meal designed by someone who has run a restaurant kitchen is a different product from one engineered down to a cost per unit — the difference shows up in the cut of meat, the depth of the base, and whether the seasoning survives being reheated.

How much cooking is actually involved

Most of the range is fully cooked and needs only defrosting overnight and reheating. A few dishes are finished at home: the Ready to Roast Pork Knuckle takes 45 minutes in the oven, and the stir-fry kits are cooked on the stove. The menu rotates, so meal-prep options and raw items come and go — the product page always states the format.

Common questions

Which Brisbane suburbs are covered?

Brisbane metro is covered by temperature-controlled delivery. Enter your postcode at checkout to confirm before you pay.

What if the box arrives while I am out?

The insulated packaging and ice bricks are built to hold temperature well beyond the delivery window, but get it into the freezer as soon as you can. If anything has visibly thawed, contact us rather than refreezing it.

What does delivery cost, and when is it free?

Delivery across Brisbane metro is $15. It is free on orders over $199 in Queensland, and the minimum order is $80 after any discounts. Ordering eight to twelve dishes at once is also how you get the freight cost per meal down.

How hot is the curry range?

It is labelled per dish. The Malay Beef Kari and Butter Chicken are mild, the Green Chicken Curry and South Indian Village Chicken Curry are medium, and Christine Manfield’s Coconut & Prawn Curry is hot.

Is there gluten and dairy free choice?

A lot of it. See gluten free and dairy free — most of the curry range qualifies for both.

It appears that your voucher belongs to the old Providoor, which, unfortunately, is not us. :(

We understand how much the original Providoor meant to many Australians, especially during the challenging times of COVID. It provided a way to enjoy high-quality meals from beloved restaurants in the comfort of your home. We also understand that some of you may still hold vouchers from the previous iteration of Providoor, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

When the original Providoor, unfortunately, went into administration, we made the decision to purchase the brand because we recognised its significance to so many Australians. Providoor was more than just a business; it was a source of comfort, connection, and joy during tough times. However, while we have revived and rebranded Providoor to focus on delivering gourmet frozen meals from celebrity chefs, we are a completely new company with a different business model and operations.

This means that we do not have any obligation to honour the vouchers issued by the previous company, as those financial liabilities were not transferred to us during the acquisition. We know this may be disappointing news, but please understand that we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for our valued customers.

Thank you again for your understanding and for being a part of Providoor’s journey. We are committed to providing you with the highest quality gourmet experiences, and we look forward to serving you in the future.

Warm regards,
The Providoor Team
