  • Description

Greek comfort food, elevated to restaurant quality. George Calombaris layers tender grass-fed braised beef, cooked down in a spiced tomato sauce warmed with cinnamon and rosemary, between soft eggplant and potato, then finishes it with a velvety béchamel made with kefalograviera, a sheep's milk cheese. Rich, but never heavy.

Defrost fully in the fridge, then reheat in the oven at 180C for 25-30 minutes until the béchamel is golden and the edges bubble. At 500g it serves two, and needs nothing more than a simple green salad and some crusty bread to become a proper dinner. Contains gluten, wheat, egg and dairy.

This is traditional Greek moussaka honoured with signature precision, so it plates as easily for a quiet weeknight as it does as part of a bigger spread. Work through the rest of George Calombaris' Greek range, or round out the order with other chef-made mains for the nights that follow.

Chef-made and flash-frozen, delivered across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

“This is a classic dish close to my heart. Layers of rich beef ragù, grilled eggplant and béchamel, baked to golden perfection. Every bite is a hug from yiayia — comforting, bold and unapologetically Greek.” – George Calombaris

    Zucchini & Haloumi Fritters
    Perfection on a plate

The saltiness of the squeaky haloumi cuts through the fresh, vibrant zucchini with incredible balance, while that dollop of sour cream and fresh dill adds a cool, luxurious finish.

At $20.00, you are getting pure restaurant-quality delivered right to your door.

    Butter Chicken
    Delicious Buttery flavour

Honestly this was way nicer than takeaway. The chicken was very tender and the sauce so delicious. I served it with rice, pappadums and some side dishes which we really loved. I will definitely buy again!

Roasted Pumpkin, Spinach and Ricotta Lasagne
Tasty and not heavy for pasta

This is my favourite dish with Providoor. It’s very tasty with a good combination of ingredients. It’s nice and light and not heavy or oily like lasagna tends to be. Generous servings and I actually got 4 serves out of it.

I took one star off for incorrect instructions. Firstly the box it comes in does not even state what temperature the oven should be on. Secondly, the instructions say best cooked defrosted. I missed this the first time I cooked it and cooked straight from frozen and it was delicious. The second time I followed the instructions and it was rather soggy. My brother is a chef and he said it’s best to cook from frozen as pasta tends to go soggy and be over-soft once thawed and the sauce will be watery. I found this out first hand. I also don’t like that these meals are to be cooked in plastic containers.

    Enjoyed the dish

Lots of veggies and delicious sauce. If I was making myself would include more chicken. Shared between 2 I found myself a little hungry after.

It appears that your voucher belongs to the old Providoor, which, unfortunately, is not us. :(

We understand how much the original Providoor meant to many Australians, especially during the challenging times of COVID. It provided a way to enjoy high-quality meals from beloved restaurants in the comfort of your home. We also understand that some of you may still hold vouchers from the previous iteration of Providoor, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

When the original Providoor, unfortunately, went into administration, we made the decision to purchase the brand because we recognised its significance to so many Australians. Providoor was more than just a business; it was a source of comfort, connection, and joy during tough times. However, while we have revived and rebranded Providoor to focus on delivering gourmet frozen meals from celebrity chefs, we are a completely new company with a different business model and operations.

This means that we do not have any obligation to honour the vouchers issued by the previous company, as those financial liabilities were not transferred to us during the acquisition. We know this may be disappointing news, but please understand that we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for our valued customers.

Thank you again for your understanding and for being a part of Providoor’s journey. We are committed to providing you with the highest quality gourmet experiences, and we look forward to serving you in the future.

Warm regards,
The Providoor Team
